La Dolfina finalista

Excelente jornada de apertura tuvo el sábado 10/9, en la cancha 1 del Jockey Club de San Isidro, el  47º Campeonato Abierto de esa entidad presentado por Chevrolet por la Copa Galicia Eminent. En dicha presentación, con carácter de semifinal, la formación de La Dolfina (33 goles) superó a Miramar (30), por 14 a 7 y es el primer finalista del certamen. La segunda semifinal, será el domingo 11, a las 15:00 en el mismo escenario y se enfrentarán los equipos de Indios Chapaleufú  II Cardón (33) vs. La Irenita Arandú (32).

 

Se vivió una jornada ventosa en San Isidro, que sin embargo no opacó la buena demostración de polo que brindaron estos dos equipos, los cuales hicieron correr rápidamente la bocha sin excesos de fules y con una gran predisposición para brindar un gran espectáculo. Muchos de estos jugadores, recién llegados de diferentes partes del exterior, lograron acostumbrarse rápidamente al polo veloz que se genera en un partido de cuatro polistas de calificado nivel.

 

Desde el inicio la formación de La Dolfina dominó las acciones del juego, primero con una arremetida de Matías Magrini y luego con una apilada de Adolfo Cambiaso que significó la apertura del marcador y el control inicial del resultado (2-0). En el segundo periodo el equipo de “Adolfito” revalidó lo hecho en el primer chukker y con dos propicias apariciones de los uruguayos Stirling y Taranco más una de  Cambiaso (figura del encuentro) se alejó en el resultado, pese a los intentos de Diego Cavanagh que era el jugador más peligroso de Miramar. La buena  actuación colectiva de La Dolfina justificaba el tanteador.

A partir del tercer chukker, el equipo de Alejandro Agote peleó con mayor suficiencia y precisión los anticipos y buscó con más ansias el mimbre rival. Sin embargo La Dolfina continuó con su buen juego merced al buen taqueo mostrado y a la sociedad formada entre Stirling y Cambiaso. En el último chukker el ganador sacó a relucir todo su poderío colectivo y con goles de gran nivel (en especial un gol de Stirling por encima de su cabeza) definió el partido con un parcial de 4 a 1 y un global de 14 a 7.

 

En esta oportunidad participan de este importante certamen, antesala de la Triple Corona de la AAP, cuatro fuertes equipos de 29 a 33 goles de valorización, integrados por relevantes jugadores que lucen en su mayoría los más altos handicap, junto a otros que van camino a su consagración definitiva, por lo que el éxito del certamen se encuentra asegurado.

El Jockey Club de Buenos Aires, prestigiosa entidad afiliada a la AAP en el año 1923  y que ha tenido notable gravitación en el Polo argentino, ya que un año antes contribuyó monetariamente a la memorable gira de nuestra primera selección nacional que ganó los abiertos de Inglaterra y EE.UU. en 1922.
